    Need a change from your typical a.m. steel cut oats?  Barley is a best keep secret when it comes to losing weight, feeling full, and increasing your energy.  If you want to be successful at weight loss - especially as you age - the best thing to do is eat fiber-rich foods and load them up with antioxidants.  This week’s recipe of the week delivers!  Try this Warm Barley Cereal with Dried Cherries and start your morning off singing the song. “I got the power!”

    Here are some substitutions and variations to keep you honest and:

    • Pinch of Stevia instead of sugar
    • 1/8 teaspoon of Kosher salt
    • 1/4 of dried fruit (less is more) such as raisins, cranberries or apricots
