  • 3 Tips to Stop Nighttime Cravings

    Posted on January 14th, 2010

I don’t know about you but food cravings seem to escalate between 3PM - 6PM or after 8PM. We have a pretty typical hectic life. Between homework, after school activities and other STUFF, it’s no wonder we moms get the munchies. I do have my arsenal of diet savers that help me stay on track. Here goes:

    1. Peppermint tea. It’s something about this wonderful herb that’s soothing and able to take the edge of my cravings. The benefit? I go to bed relaxed and get a great night’s sleep. Check out some benefits of Peppermint tea…

    2. Apple slice with almond butter. The great thing about this snack is that you don’t need a whole lot of it to feel satisfied. You have the sweetness of the apple and the protein kick from the almond butter - a winning combination.

    3. Water with a lemon or lime slice. Of course we all know the benefits of water, but I love adding lemon and/or lime. It adds a refreshing twist and gives me a “kick” without the calories. For an extra treat, I’ll add some seltzer water - just too close to bedtime.

Try these tips and let me know how you do. Remember, anytime you beat a craving, you’ve WON!
