Fitwell Personal Boot Camp - Silver Spring

Our boot camp is led by Discovery Health fitness expert and Fitwell’s fearless leader Valerie Merriweather. She will take you through moves you’ve never seen before yet tailor them to your unique needs. Like most boot camps, we start before the suns rises but we leave out the intimidation factor. If you don’t want to train like a navy SEAL, you don’t have to. It doesn’t matter if you have exercise experience or not. You can still participate in a workout program that will help get your body in shape. You’ll feel great and lose those unwanted, hard-to-get-off pounds.

1. Complete medical health history forms and fax to 301-476-4581. These forms must be completed prior to participating in the boot camp. You will be contacted if there are any questions about your application.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up for Fitwell Personal Boot Camp at the Forest Knolls Elementary School. I had been working out for over a year in my basement and was looking for a change and some camaraderie. I’m so glad I joined! Valerie is NOT an ex-Marine, there is no yelling and calling of names. Instead she encourages us and energizes us with a quiet, but forceful voice. The Boot Camp consists of circuits that are repeated twice. Each circuit has 2 minutes of cardio followed by strength training exercises using only your body weight. Sometimes we take advantage of the playground equipment for weight training. I’m amazed at the variety of exercises that Valerie knows and uses. There is very little repetition. I also enjoy the individualized attention – Valerie will tell you to push harder or correct your form, if needed. I’m looking forward to the spring as I continue to lose weight, grow stronger and build endurance. ~ Alison

I love this class! I wasn’t crazy about a 5:45 am workout, but I always leave the class full of energy and ready for the rest of the day. It’s challenging, but not too tough. Valerie pushes each individual according to their individual fitness level, and makes the class fun through a variety of drills. ~ Heather
